Akabo Media is a market-leading B2B publishing and events company, delivering high-value content, conferences, exhibitions, and awards across industries including logistics, automation, robotics, urban mobility, road user charging, and sustainability. Our publications are a key pillar of our business, supporting our commercial success through advertising, sponsorships, supplier-hosted webinars, and awards.

We are looking for an ambitious and commercially driven Commercial Manager – Publications with 10+ years of experience in B2B sales to take ownership of the revenue strategy for our print and digital titles. This is a pivotal role, directly responsible for maximising commercial opportunities across Logistics Manager, Robotics & Automation, and CiTTi magazine, as well as our affiliated awards and webinar offerings.

Key Responsibilities

Revenue Growth & Sales Strategy

  1. Develop and implement a commercial sales strategy and drive revenue from advertising, sponsorships, and partnerships across our magazine portfolio.
  2. Sell advertising (print/digital), branded content, supplier-hosted webinars, and sponsorship packages.
  3. Ensure each publication’s commercial performance aligns with its related awards, exhibitions, and conferences to maximise cross-platform revenue.

Business Development & Client Relationships

  1. Identify and secure new advertisers and sponsors, while growing existing accounts.
  2. Develop bespoke commercial partnerships, working consultatively with clients to deliver multi-platform exposure.
  3. Build relationships with key industry stakeholders and suppliers to develop long-term revenue streams.

Cross-Platform Integration

  1. Work closely with the Events and Awards teams to integrate commercial opportunities across our entire portfolio (e.g., Logistics Manager with IntraLogisteX and the UK Awards).
  2. Support commercial development of Aurora Insights by leveraging research-based opportunities.
  3. Drive sponsorship and advertising sales for one/two-day conferences that emerge from our magazine brands.

Team Leadership & Collaboration

  1. Work closely with editorial and marketing teams to ensure commercial alignment with high-value content.
  2. Provide sales leadership and mentorship to ensure revenue targets are met and exceeded.
  3. Collaborate with the marketing team to enhance promotion and visibility of advertising opportunities.

Key Skills & Experience

  1. 10+ years in B2B commercial sales, ideally in advertising, sponsorship, or media sales.
  2. Proven ability to sell across multiple revenue streams, including print/digital advertising, sponsorship, and webinars.
  3. Strong commercial acumen, with a strategic and consultative sales approach.
  4. Experience working in logistics, automation, transport, or sustainability sectors (but not essential).
  5. Excellent relationship-building skills with senior stakeholders and decision-makers.
  6. A self-motivated, results-oriented professional with a strong drive for financial success.
