Montgomery Group is seeking an experienced and results-driven Exhibition Commercial Manager to lead sales within our Design & Build Division, with a primary focus on the Surface Design Show, the UK's leading event for the architecture and design community which runs in London annually.

This role is integral to the success of the show, as you will be responsible for selling exhibition space and sponsorship opportunities to both new and existing clients. Reporting directly to the Event Director, you will play a key role in shaping sales strategies, securing new business, and building long-term relationships within the industry.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Sales & Business Development

  • Exceed revenue targets for exhibition space and sponsorship sales.
  • Develop and implement sales strategies based on market trends and client insights.
  • Secure new business through cold calling, social media, email campaigns, networking, and meetings.
  • Identify new opportunities by analysing client portfolios.
  • Upsell and cross-sell solutions using deep industry knowledge.
  • Consistently achieve and surpass monthly sales KPIs.

Reporting & Forecasting

  • Create and execute a sales plan aligned with event growth goals.
  • Maintain accurate financial reports and sales pipeline via CRM.
  • Track sales performance, providing insights and improvement strategies.

Stakeholder Engagement & Collaboration

  • Build and maintain strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Deliver compelling proposals to clients and senior management.
  • Collaborate with marketing to enhance lead generation and conversion.
  • Optimize exhibitor placements through effective floor plan management.

IDEAL CANDIDATE

  • Has experience of working with or within the Architecture and Design community.
  • Demonstrated success in achieving results within exhibitions and sponsorship sales, consistently meeting and exceeding targets.
  • Highly organised, with the ability to effectively prioritise and manage time to maximize productivity and achieve goals.
  • High emotional intelligence, skilled in building and sustaining strong relationships with both internal and external stakeholders.
  • Personable and enthusiastic, with a proactive, solutions-oriented approach—a true team player committed to collective success.
  • A confident communicator with the ability to present and negotiate at all levels.

The central London, dog friendly offices are close to Oxford Street & Marylebone High Street with access to the private Manchester Square Gardens. Hybrid working is offered to all applicants with a minimum of at least 3 days in the office, Monday, Tuesday & Thursday. Core hours are 9-5pm, flexibility outside these hours will be required to suit the needs of the business.
