Qualifications

  • Proven experience as a Commercial Manager or Senior QS in the civils industry.
  • Strong knowledge of NEC and experience in adjudications and disputes.

We currently have an exciting opportunity for a Commercial Manager to join us at our head office based in Ipswich. However, the role may also take you to sites within our operating areas along with travel to client offices.

Main duties include:

  • Liaise with Finance Director on a regular basis to discuss items such as cash collection, subcontractor issues, CVRs and any other relevant item that may be required from time to time.
  • Support the Contracts Director
  • Monitor various internal reports and liaise with regional staff where relevant
  • Review contract agreements to ensure compliance with company procedures are correct.
  • Provide feedback and commentary to the Board on projects which you identify as possible high risk
  • Provide support to the Board when required.
  • Provide the link between the Board and the Regions
  • Maintain sufficient resources to support the commercial objectives of the company.
  • Identify potential risks and evaluate options for control.
  • Prepare, submit and negotiate the resolution of disputes with the assistance of the regional and site staff where necessary.
  • Monitor contract compliance against statutory requirements.

Are you the person we are looking for?

The successful candidate will have strong interpersonal, leadership and communication skills along with strong knowledge of NEC, with the ability to manage contract administration and experience of adjudications and judications and dealing with disputes.

You will have a degree level qualification or experience with RICS or equivalent qualification.

We are looking for someone with proven experience as a successful Commercial Manager/ Managing QS/ Senior QS within the civils industry.

A UK driving license is mandatory for this role along with the right to live and work in the UK.
