Job description

A highly regulated engineering organisation is seeking a Commercial Manager to lead and oversee all contractual and commercial activities across major project portfolios.

This position would suit a commercially focused individual with significant experience managing NEC contracts within the nuclear, defence, or energy sectors. It's ideal for someone who thrives in a leadership role, with a proactive approach to stakeholder engagement, contractual negotiation, and cross-functional collaboration in high-pressure environments.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead commercial activities across project portfolios, ensuring compliance, value, and effective team performance.
  • Provide contractual guidance and manage change control, forecasting, and commercial reporting.
  • Support tendering activities, risk management, and subcontract negotiations.
  • Line manage commercial teams, delegating and developing talent appropriately.
  • Act as the key commercial interface with internal and external stakeholders, ensuring alignment.
Requirements
  • Proven experience in Senior Commercial position with Management / Leadership skills
  • Experience with NEC Contracts
  • Significant contract review and negotiation skills
  • Eligibility for SC Clearance (British National or 5 years+ in UK)
  • Experience in the Nuclear industry preferred but not essential

Location: Chorley
Contract: 12-month duration
Pay: Competitive rate - LTD (subject to CEST test / IR35 determination)
Working Hours: 4 day working week! Flexible Hours & Hybrid.
