Location: National (can be based Stirling or Northwest England)

Your new role

About the role

You’ll manage the Commercial Team overseeing projects. You will be a team player and strategic thinker, keeping close control of costs and building sustainable relationships to drive customer satisfaction and project success. As a Commercial Manager, you’ll be responsible for:

  • Supporting the company in achieving its budget and business plan through preparation, delivery, and commercial management of projects.
  • Ensuring the company complies with all the requirements of the Construction Commercial and Financial procedures as produced by Group.
  • Ensuring that all projects being entered into have been vetted from a commercial and contractual perspective, and as such the risks associated with each form of contract have been recognised and understood.
  • Carrying out preconstruction/tendering process on behalf of our clients ensuring that commercial and contractual risks are identified and advice is provided to our clients.
  • Ensuring that prior to commencing work on any project a robust and satisfactory contract is in place to protect the company.
  • Attending Management Meetings representing the commercial and financial functions and completing any relevant reporting.
  • Ensuring commercial teams are motivated to achieve company goals, and ensuring that cost managers utilise correct tools in terms of forecasting, planning, and resource management.

What you'll need:

  • BSc. in Quantity Surveying or similar qualification.
  • Complimentary relevant industrial experience.
  • Member of Royal Institute of Chartered Surveyors.
  • Methodical approach.
  • Ability to work on own initiative.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.
