Salary up to £80,000 + Car Allowance £6000 + 25 Days Holiday + Pension
Blaymires Recruitment is representing a leading offsite design and build contractor based near Ringwood, who is searching for a Commercial Manager to join the business.
The company is well known for being the South's largest modular building contractor and has successfully delivered projects across the MoD, Residential and Education sectors.
Projects have included classrooms through to large scale accommodation with project values ranging from £1M to £30M.
As Commercial Manager, you will manage the commercial performance of all projects across the business. You will provide commercial support to the Project Managers & Surveyors to allow management of project and commercial risk, ensuring that financial performance meets or exceeds profitability targets.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support the Finance & Commercial Director.
  • Manage Commercial contracts with the business & clients at all stages.
  • Understand the requirements of the customers in specific sectors, where applicable, and ensure that projects are managed commercially to satisfy those requirements.
  • Work together with sales and estimating to develop accurate bids.
  • Responsible for the commercial assurance of the projects under management.
  • Day to day management of the company’s Commercial Team, supporting the Project Quantity Surveyors on site where required.
  • Work with Project Quantity Surveyors to ensure that subcontracts are placed in a timely, accurate and efficient manner.
  • Provide commercial assurance of project margin performance through accurate forecasting and identification of issues giving rise to commercial risk.
  • Management of commercial performance, cashflow, margin management (commercial value creation), and commercial risk on allocated projects.
  • Support the Project Delivery Team in the management of the contract (including managing warranties), creating commercial value.
  • Identify any potential disputes, provide appropriate reports, and ensure that issues are escalated appropriately.

Experience / Qualifications:

  • This is a management position for an individual with the business acumen to develop commercial opportunity on projects and within the business to achieve and exceed profitability targets.
  • Proven experience in leading, influencing, and communicating with others. Extensive experience of managing commercial contracts (JCT or NEC) with clients is essential. Demonstrable experience in the construction industry is also essential.
  • Appropriate qualifications, and professional membership of the RICS, CIOB, or ICE is desirable. A valid CSCS card is required.
