Job description

Job Title: Commercial Gas Engineer

Location: Lancashire and surrounding region

Contract: Permanent, Mobile, Full time

Salary: up to £50,000, 1 in 6 On call pay £120 standby

I am currently working on behalf of a large FM and maintenance company, seeking an experienced and qualified commercial gas engineer. This will be a mobile role covering small retailers and commercial offices. Ideally, the candidate has experience working within commercial environments carrying out all areas of commercial gas maintenance and minor remedial tasks.

As a Gas Engineer, the post holder is responsible for:

  • Planning and carrying out Planned Preventative Maintenance (PPM) and reactive repairs to Commercial/Industrial boilers.
  • Completing inspection and gas safety check certificates.

Main duties will include:

  • Carrying out Planned Preventative Maintenance and completing the appropriate paperwork and reports.
  • Ensuring all statutory and mandatory tasks are completed within the required timescales and certification is correctly completed.
  • Carrying out reactive and emergency tasks and completing all tasks using handheld technology effectively.
  • Maintenance, testing & fault finding on a variety of equipment including boiler plant, ventilation, pumps, generators, switchgear, cables, batteries, small power and lighting (where applicable).
  • Knowledge of Health & Safety and safe working practices.

The Ideal candidate must have the following:

  • Relevant commercial certifications, including CODNCO1, ICPN1, CIGA1, CORT1.
  • Experience working in commercial settings.
  • Additional certifications like Catering, IPAF, PASMA, and OFTEC are advantageous but not required.
  • Qualified to City & Guilds Level II/III or equivalent in relevant disciplines to the role.
  • A valid driving licence.
