About the Role: Commercial Events Assistant

Activate Learning is looking for a Commercial Events Assistant to join our team at Merrist Wood College.

In this role, you will support the Commercial Events Team in organizing and delivering a range of engaging events, including:

  • Animal Parties
  • Meet and Greet Sessions
  • Educational Tours
  • Farm Open Days
  • Large-Scale Commercial Events (e.g., Pumpkin Patch Event)

As a Commercial Events Assistant, you will play an essential role in ensuring the smooth execution of these events. Your responsibilities will include:

  • Providing professional and efficient service to customers and visitors.
  • Assisting in the planning, coordination, and execution of events.
  • Supporting the team in delivering a high-quality experience for attendees.
  • Upholding Activate Learning’s Vision, Values, and Strategic Plan.

What You Need to Succeed as a Commercial Events Assistant at Activate Learning?

We are looking for a team player with a flexible approach to work, willing to take on additional tasks as needed to support both the team and organizational objectives. You should be responsible, proactive, and customer-focused, with a strong commitment to safety for yourself, colleagues, and visitors.

Hours & Commitment

This is a casual role, offering up to 16 hours per week.

What do you need to be a Commercial Events Assistant at Activate Learning?

Essential Qualifications & Experience:

  • GCSEs (or equivalent) in English and Maths
  • Prior experience in the animal industry

Desirable Qualifications & Experience:

  • Experience in event coordination or customer-facing roles with multiple priorities
  • Strong IT skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Office
