Le Boat, part of the Travelopia group, is the world’s leading provider of self-drive boating holidays, with over 55 years of experience. Our fleet, crafted to suit all party sizes and budgets, requires no license or prior boating experience, making it accessible to everyone. With guests from around the globe, including North America, Germany, and France, Le Boat operates in 9 countries with France's Canal du Midi as the most famous and popular cruising ground.

We are looking to hire a Commercial Director to join our team! Reporting to the Managing Director, you’ll be responsible for further developing and implementing the commercial strategy for the business ensuring that revenue and utilisation is maximised. The Commercial Director will drive all commercial aspects of the business and will be a key member of the Le Boat senior executive team.

What You’ll Do:

  • Develop and implement the commercial strategy, aligning with business objectives to drive revenue and market growth.
  • Improve fleet planning, pricing, and revenue management to increase yield and profitability.
  • Identify new market opportunities, partnerships, and revenue streams to enhance business performance.
  • Lead customer insights and market analysis, using data to refine sales and marketing strategies.
  • Collaborate with the Sales Director to lead on sales performance and key commercial metrics, ensuring a data-driven approach to decision-making.
  • Collaborate with Sales, Marketing, and Operations to improve acquisition, retention, and customer experience.
  • Spearhead commercial innovation and digital transformation initiatives to improve operational efficiency.
  • Partner with Marketing in the development of the commercial aspects of our Loyalty scheme and other repeat/referral initiatives.
  • Represent the company at industry events, trade shows, and conferences to strengthen market presence.
  • Cultivate a culture dedicated to growth, establishing goals and promoting responsibility among teams.
  • Stay ahead of industry trends and competitor activities, ensuring the company remains a market leader.

What You’ll Bring:

  • Extensive experience in senior commercial roles, ideally in travel, hospitality, or tourism, with a focus on revenue management.
  • Proven experience in yield management (hotels, cruise, car rental, or similar fixed inventory businesses).
  • Strong strategic, analytical, and leadership skills with experience managing cross-functional teams.
  • Expertise in partnership contracts and commercial planning.
  • Proficiency in Power BI (experience with other platforms considered) and data-driven decision-making.
  • Excellent communication and relationship-building skills at all levels.
  • Willingness to travel for business development and partnerships.
