Commercial Administrator
Location: Harrogate
Salary: Up to £28,000
Hours: Monday to Friday, 8am – 4pm (1 day working from home)

I’m currently working with a well-established and growing distribution company based in Harrogate that is looking to recruit a Commercial Administrator. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone either early in their career or looking for that next step into a varied and commercially focused role.

This is a great chance to join a business where you’ll gain exposure across purchasing, sales, logistics and supply chain, with genuine opportunity to develop and make the role your own.

The Role
You’ll act as a vital link between customers and suppliers, ensuring smooth handling of both new project enquiries and day-to-day operations. Your main responsibilities will include:

  1. Receiving new project requests from customers and reaching out to suppliers for offers
  2. Reviewing supplier offers, comparing pricing and services, and presenting the best option to the customer
  3. Calculating associated costs such as trucking, customs, and delivery to create a full commercial offer
  4. Managing day-to-day stock sales – a key part of the business’s revenue
  5. Supporting wider commercial operations and helping the business identify and develop new opportunities over time

What We’re Looking For
We’re keen to speak to candidates who are highly organised, commercially aware, and confident working with numbers. Ideally, you’ll bring:

  1. A commercial background and a relevant degree (business, economics, supply chain or similar)
  2. Strong maths and Excel skills – attention to detail is essential
  3. Confidence in communicating with both customers and suppliers
  4. Experience in a similar role is beneficial, but the company is also very open to recent graduates or those early in their career who are eager to learn
