What you’ll do

We're recruiting for a Collections Strategy Manager to join our Credit Risk, Billing & Collections (BCRC) team here at Vodafone UK. As a Collections Strategy Manager, you will work closely with our Senior Collections & Payments Strategy Manager to take ownership of strategies that ensure effective debt recovery while minimizing risks and costs for the organisation. The role involves analysing data, optimizing collection processes, and designing strategies that improve collection rates while maintaining a customer-focused approach.

Wider responsibilities will include:

  • Collection Strategy Development: Maintain, design and implement customized collections strategies using scorecards and models, with a view to optimizing performance based on risk profiles and financial behaviours, reducing delinquencies and enhancing recovery rates.
  • Analysis and MI: Analyse customer data, payment histories, and trends to identify opportunities for improving the collection process by monitoring key performance indicators (KPIs) such as recovery rates, cost per account, and customer forbearance success.
  • Reporting: Prepare detailed reports for senior management, providing insights on collections performance and strategy effectiveness.
  • Process Optimization: Relentless evaluation of the existing collections treatment paths, processes and recommend improvements to enhance efficiency, meet regulatory requirements and reduce costs. Work closely with the IT, Data and operations teams to implement automated solutions and enhance system functionality for collections.
  • Team Management: Lead and manage the collections analysts, providing guidance about optimisation of collections strategies aiming to improve recoveries, reduce costs and improve CX.

Who you are

  • Highly numerate with competency in data analysis and statistical techniques.
  • Experience of using analytical tools such as SQL, SAS and Python.
  • Understanding of key regulatory and legal issues relating to credit & collections.
  • Degree level qualification in mathematics / statistics or equivalent desirable.
  • High attention to detail.
  • Strong communication and presentation skills with a proven ability to influence senior stakeholders.
