An established industry player is seeking a Collections & Production Manager to lead the development and production process. This role requires a confident individual with a strong understanding of contemporary womenswear, fabrics, and garment construction. De La Vali has an opportunity for a confident and driven individual to join our team as the Collections & Production Manager.
Using your broad range of skills and wealth of experience, your leadership will drive the development and production process ensuring the collections meet design intent, quality, margins and timelines. You will have a strong understanding of contemporary womenswear, fabrics and garment construction and be expected to apply your skills across both the creative and practical aspects of the product lifecycle.
Main Responsibilities and Duties:
Support the team in the daily communication with factories on all product related issues, ensuring answers are given in a timely manner and in line with the critical path.
Oversee the production of salesman samples, alongside the Designer to ensure that all are produced to the highest quality and in line with the critical path.
Act as a technical partner to the Design team attending fittings, providing feedback on technical feasibility, brainstorming ideas and solutions to ensure the design vision is translated into product.
Conduct final QC on bulk production & salesman samples - problem solve and address any issues that need amending.
Manage the development budget for the collection, ensuring product costs meet margin requirements and the overall collection is delivered within budget and on time.
In collaboration with the Designer, order prototype and raw materials directly from suppliers.
Negotiate prices and flag any issues prior to raising seasonal factory Purchase Orders.
Approve lab dips, trims and cloth for bulk production, ensuring they meet our standards
Build sound and lasting partnerships with strategic suppliers
Ownership of the Critical Path. It is your responsibility to build and maintain the annual production & development calendar.
Proactively track and call out upcoming deadlines to keep the team aligned with timelines.
Manage the delivery schedule from factory to customer, ensuring goods are delivered on time and without discrepancies.
Manage and mentor the Design & Development team.
Key Skills:
Familiarity with multi-product category development and production management
Experience working with tech packs, BOMs, and attending fit sessions
Solution-oriented with excellent organisational skills, with the ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines
Outstanding communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to effectively liaise with vendors and cross-functional teams
Demonstrated experience managing budgets
Excel wizard
Good working knowledge of Zedonk is advantageous
