It really is a unique place to work with a fantastic, vibrant atmosphere serving a menu of time-honoured American staples and classic cocktails from morning until the early hours.

Do you want to join one of the best places to work in hospitality?

What’s the role?

Cocktail Waiter

Who we are…

The Ned and Ned’s Club are a global collection of hotels, clubs, spas, and restaurants for like-minded individuals to meet, work and have a good time.

The Ned launched in 2017 in the heart of the City, in the former Midland Bank headquarters. The Ned City of London houses Ned’s Club - a private members’ space, gym and rooftop - alongside a public spa, a whole floor of event spaces, ten restaurants and bars and 250 hotel bedrooms.

Reporting into the Nickel Bar management team and as the friendly face of the guest experience you will:

  • Be the main point of contact for your guests’ entire visit, tailoring your service to deliver the exceptional experiences that The Ned is known for
  • Using your unrivalled knowledge of our menu, you’ll answer all guests queries and provide recommendations to make sure every guest receives the perfect food and drinks
  • Even when not directly interacting with our guests you will be in full view so you will always be impeccably presented, delivering a slick operation, all with a friendly and open energy
  • Be the last guardian of food and drink quality and presentation, never letting anything lower than Ned standards reach our guests
  • Maintain a safe and clean environment, protecting our guests and your teammates from any possible harm
  • As the Nickel Bar is in the heart of the ground floor, you will often be approached by hotel guests and visitors to The Ned, so you’ll always be ready with an open attitude to help and guide them
  • Shifts vary between an 0700 start and a late finish

What you can bring to the role:

  • You’ll have a fantastic personality, engaging with our customers to give them an exceptional service
  • Great all-round food and drinks knowledge is an advantage, but we can teach you everything you need to know about our menus
  • The Nickel Bar is the main area that people come to unwind after work and enjoy the live music and as such it can get very busy and this can be a high-pressure role, so a calm demeanour and ability to defuse situations and turn them into a positive is extremely valuable
  • We love people to continuously improve, so if you have the desire to learn and progress then you can take part in loads of learning here at The Ned as part of our monthly learning calendar

What The Ned can give you:

  • Salary of £16.25 per hour (including service charge)
  • Complimentary meals in our friendly team restaurant, Neddy’s including monthly payday breakfast
  • Exciting learning and development programmes to help progress your career
  • Exclusive rates at The Ned for staying and eating for you, your family and friends
  • Wellbeing and health benefits, including Medicash and Wagestream, with access to gym, shopping, and cinema discounts
  • Your birthday off after a year of service and more holiday after five years
  • Paid volunteer day
  • Refer a friend scheme
  • Regular social events, including an annual pool party
  • Employee assistance programme – 24/7 advice and support
  • Reward and recognition initiatives

At The Ned, we don't just celebrate our diversity, we challenge ourselves to do even better. The Ned is committed to being the best place to work, and ensuring that we have a leading diversity, equity and inclusion programme is central to making that vision a reality.

Please let us know of any specific needs you may have during your interview.
