Job Overview

We are seeking a reliable and skilled Coach Driver to join our team. The ideal candidate will possess a strong sense of responsibility and excellent driving skills, ensuring the safe and timely transport of passengers. This role requires effective communication and the ability to maintain a positive environment for all passengers while adhering to traffic regulations and company policies.

Duties

1. Safely operate a coach, ensuring the comfort and safety of all passengers during transit.
2. Conduct pre-trip inspections to ensure the vehicle is in good working condition, including checking mechanical systems and fuel levels.
3. Maintain accurate records of routes, passenger counts, and any incidents that occur during transit.
4. Communicate effectively with passengers, providing information about routes, schedules, and any delays or changes.
5. Assist passengers as needed, including helping those with disabilities or special needs.
6. Ensure cleanliness and proper maintenance of the bus interior and exterior.
7. Follow all traffic laws and company policies while driving to ensure safety for all road users.

Requirements

1. Valid PSV driving licence with appropriate endorsements for operating a bus / coach.
2. Tacho Card
3. Strong mechanical knowledge to identify potential issues with the vehicle.
4. Excellent communication skills in English, both verbal and written.
5. Previous experience as a delivery driver or van driver is advantageous but not essential.
6. Ability to maintain a calm demeanour under pressure and handle challenging situations effectively.
7. A commitment to providing excellent customer service and maintaining a positive attitude at all times.

Ideal Candidate

1. You will be an experienced coach driver.
2. Will reside within a 15 mile radius of Swindon.
3. You will have a good geographical knowledge of the UK.
