Job description

If you are an experienced CNC Turner, able to programme with Fanuc Manual Guide, on both main spindle, sub-spindle and tail-stock lathes, with driven tooling and Y-Axis machining capabilities, then this role might just be what you’re looking for.

You’ll have the opportunity to mentor others, sharing your expertise in CNC programming, robotics, and advanced machining techniques, while shaping the next generation of skilled engineers.

What will I be doing?

  • Program, set, and operate CNC lathes with Fanuc Manual Guide, including twin-spindle and driven-tooling lathes.
  • Take responsibility for the robotic programming and setup of collaborative robots to run medium to large batch production, allowing you to spend more time on one-off and prototype components.
  • Collaborate with a forward-thinking team to improve processes and deliver high-quality components.

Our turning cell features state-of-the-art equipment, including:

  • Doosan Puma TT1800: Twin spindle and twin turret for high-precision multitasking
  • Doosan Puma SY: Equipped with driven tooling for enhanced versatility
  • Doosan Lynx: Features a tailstock for increased stability in machining
  • Mazak QTN 250MSY: Sub spindle and driven tooling for complex part production
  • 2 x CoboTend integrated robotic CNC machine tending units

Legal Stuff

Shift Pattern:

  • Week 1 & 2: 6:00–14:00, Monday to Friday – £21.00 per hour
  • Week 3 & 4: 14:00–00:00, Monday to Thursday – £25.20 per hour
  • Overtime – £31.50 per hour
  • Holidays - 25 days plus bank holidays
  • Expected hours: 38 – 50 per week

Education:

  • A-Level or equivalent (preferred)

Experience:

  • Fanuc Manual Guide Programming: 2 years (required)
  • CNC Turning experience post apprenticeship: 5 years (required)

Work Trial Requirements:

Before any offer can be made, candidates must demonstrate the following skills in a practical work trial:

  • Ability to program complex parts using driven tooling and sub spindles with ease, specifically using Fanuc Manual Guide.
  • Competence in the use of driven tooling and Y-axis milling.
  • Experience in offline CADCAM programming is preferred but not essential, as training can be provided.
