Job description

Overview
We are seeking a skilled and experienced CNC Turner to join our team. The ideal candidate will have expertise in setting and operating 2-axis CNC lathes, working with Fanuc controls, reading engineering drawings to BS/ISO standards, and meeting production deadlines. The role requires precision, attention to detail, and the ability to work both independently and as part of a team.

Responsibilities

  1. Program, set, and operate 2-axis CNC lathes
  2. Work with Fanuc controls
  3. Read and interpret engineering drawings to BS/ISO standards
  4. Complete first-offs, prove-outs, and inspections
  5. Meet production deadlines
  6. Conduct quality inspection of parts using micrometers, verniers, and gauges
  7. De-burr parts using various hand tools
  8. Work independently and as part of a team
  9. Perform any other duties as required and deemed appropriate

Qualifications

  1. Skilled in setting and operating CNC lathes and tooling
  2. Experience in program editing and G Code knowledge
  3. Ability to read and interpret mechanical documents and drawings
  4. Proficiency in computer operations with a good understanding of CNC programs
  5. Mechanical aptitude and strong mathematical skills
  6. Attention to detail with excellent communication abilities
  7. Ability to work independently with minimum supervision
  8. Demonstrate reliability, punctuality, and a strong work ethic
  9. Capable of working under pressure and meeting deadlines with high quality standards
  10. Willingness to work occasional overtime, sometimes at short notice
  11. Motivated and an excellent team player
  12. Experience in offline programming, especially Featurecam/Fusion 360 would be advantageous

Day-to-day

  1. Setting and operating CNC lathes
  2. Reading and interpreting engineering drawings
  3. Programming and editing CNC programs
  4. Conducting quality inspections of parts
  5. De-burring parts using hand tools
  6. Working independently and as part of a team
  7. Meeting production deadlines
  8. Occasional overtime may be required
  9. Utilizing precision measurement equipment

Package
Working Hours: Monday to Thursday 7.30am - 4.00pm and Friday 7.30am - 3.00pm.
Employment Type: Permanent Full Time.
Weekly Hours: 39 Hours + Occasional Overtime when needed
Rate: £15.00 - £19.00 Hour
