Job description

We have an exciting new opportunity for an experienced CNC Turner Setter/Operator to join a team based in Bristol, BS4. Our client is looking for a CNC Turner to prepare, programme, set and operate CNC machines, to perform turning and drilling operations. This permanent role will offer opportunities for career development and the potential of career progression.

What you'll be doing:

  1. Preparing, programming, setting and operating CNC machines to perform turning and drilling operations.
  2. Reading engineering drawings to understand specifications of the tasks at hand and the desired result.
  3. Translating instructions into computer programmes so the machines can perform the correct functions.
  4. Maintaining machinery daily.
  5. Preparing and loading raw materials and parts onto the machines.
  6. Setting the machines to complete full production cycles. Supervising the machines whilst they are completing tasks and adjusting when required.
  7. Inspecting finished products against the requirements.
  8. Complying with all Health and Safety regulations and instructions. Also complying with all relevant Standards including ISO 9001.

Requirements:

  1. Engineering apprenticeship desirable.
  2. Proven experience as a CNC operator/setter/programmer.
  3. An understanding of operating workshop machinery, tools and precision measuring equipment.
  4. Ability to read and interpret mechanical documents and engineering drawings.
  5. Computer literate with an understanding of computer programming.
  6. Good communication skills and a team player.
  7. Ability to work to deadlines and targets.
  8. A keen eye for detail and ability to take on individual tasks.
