We’re looking for a hands-on Studio Technician (CNC Specialism) to join our small team. This role focuses on CNC router operation, workshop upkeep, and materials handling.
You’ll be responsible for preparing files, programming toolpaths, and ensuring jobs are completed to Flux’s high standards.
This is a practical, workshop-based role – not a desk or design position.
CAD/CAM experience is beneficial but not essential – full training provided. Experience working with sheet materials (wood & plastics) is highly desirable.
Key Responsibilities
- CNC Machine Operation – Setting up, running, and maintaining CNC routers.
- Workshop & Materials Handling – Loading/unloading materials, finishing parts, packaging orders.
- Health & Safety – Ensuring safe machine use and a tidy workspace.
- File Preparation & Programming – Checking files, programming toolpaths (training provided).
- Quoting & Workflow Support – Assisting with project pricing and liaising with clients.
- Problem-Solving & Quality Control – Identifying and correcting errors before/during production.
Key Skills & Requirements
- Understanding of CAD software (Adobe Illustrator, AutoCAD, or similar) is beneficial.
- Comfortable with manual handling and working on your feet all day.
- Hands-on experience with tools and machinery is useful.
- Proactive, detail-oriented, and eager to learn CNC programming.
