Job description

CNC Turner - HAAS / Fanuc Controls

Location: Hill Brow, West Sussex
Salary: £20.00 - £23.00 per hour (up to £50,000 p.a. DOE)
Hours: Dayshift | Early finish on Fridays
Additional: Summer shutdown - enjoy the hot weather off!

We're working with a respected, family-run engineering business that supplies high-quality components to the automotive industry, with a particular focus on vintage parts and restoration work. With over 1,800 product lines and 50,000 parts in stock, they maintain a strong in-house capability across both traditional and modern machining.

The Role

They're looking for a skilled CNC Turner to join their close-knit team. You'll be working on a HAAS lathe with Fanuc-based controls, handling a variety of one-offs and low-batch work.

Some programming knowledge is required — either on-machine or offline (CAMWorks or SolidWorks would be beneficial, but not essential if you're good with Fanuc controls and hands-on programming).

Key Responsibilities

  1. Setting and operating HAAS CNC lathes (Fanuc controls)
  2. Producing small batch, high-precision parts to technical drawings
  3. Programming new parts (on or offline) and adjusting existing programs as needed
  4. First-off and in-process inspection using standard gauges and micrometres
  5. Keeping your area clean and organised with light machine maintenance

Ideal Background

  1. Strong experience as a CNC Turner (setting/operating/programming)
  2. Confident with Fanuc controls (HAAS experience ideal)
  3. Comfortable working solo and managing your own workload
  4. Previous exposure to low-volume, high-quality engineering
  5. Any experience with CAM software (CAMWorks, SolidWorks, etc.) is a plus
