CNC Programmer / Applications Engineer

We are searching for an experienced Fanuc CNC Programmer. My client is a well-established supplier of CNC machine tools and robot automation cells, selling to manufacturing businesses throughout the UK and Ireland.

The ideal candidate must have a strong background in CNC programming and be available to stay away during the week as required.

Experience in robot programming is desirable but not essential - we are looking for someone eager to learn and develop automation skills on the job. This role offers the opportunity to gain hands-on experience with industrial robots, allowing you to integrate CNC machines with robotic automation and progress into a more advanced role in manufacturing automation.

Responsibilities:

The role is project-based requiring working away during the week on customer sites in the UK and Ireland. Potentially 2-3 weeks in a row, home at weekends.
To set and program CNC machines and industrial robots within the factory for factory acceptance testing.
Customer witness testing and training.
Set up automation cells at customer sites and conduct on-site customer acceptance testing.
Troubleshooting and optimizing performance.
Training will be provided as required on Robot programming, PLC programming, and automation software development.

38 hour week

Requirements:

Available to stay away Monday to Friday as required.
Fanuc programming experience is essential.
Siemens or Heidenhain experience is beneficial.
A time-served engineer with at least 5 years' experience as a CNC programmer, turning and milling machine tools applications.
A qualified engineer with a recognized apprenticeship.
Driving license with no more than 3 points.
