CNC Programmer

Our client is a long-established production company known for delivering precision-engineered solutions across diverse sectors, including automotive, healthcare, and lighting. They are now looking to expand their team for their CNC and Laser operations.

The Role

Seeking a proactive and technically skilled individual to take ownership of the CNC and Laser department. You'll be directly responsible for running, programming, and setting up a variety of CNC and laser machinery, including 3 and 5 axis routers and a high-performance laser cutter.

Your responsibilities will include:

1. Developing machine-ready programs for 3-axis routers using 2D CAD/CAM (Alphacam).
2. Adjusting and uploading programs for 5-axis equipment based on operational parameters and offset values.
3. Configuring machines with jigs, fixtures, and tooling for efficient production.
4. Acting as the go-to technical expert for the CNC cell, offering support and knowledge sharing across the team.
5. Ensuring all work aligns with health, safety, and quality standards, while carrying out routine machine maintenance.

The Candidate

1. Strong understanding of 3-axis and 5-axis routing techniques and workflows.
2. Confident in programming, setting, and running CNC machines across different platforms.
3. Skilled in interpreting technical drawings and NC code.
4. Competent in using measurement tools (e.g. micrometers, verniers) to verify dimensions and tolerances.
5. Experience working with CAD/CAM software (preferably Alphacam).

Offering up to £45k dependant on skills and experience.
