Cnc Operator/Programmer

CNC Machinist

An exciting temporary contract is available with a prestigious brand in Maritime technology solutions.

We need an experienced CNC Setter Programmer / Machinist who can lead on some exciting projects.

Responsibilities will include:

1. Programming using CAD CAM (AutoDesk Inventor/ Fusion 360)
2. Setting and operating both HAAS 5-axis and 3-axis router to produce prototypes.
3. Ordering materials and tooling.
4. Using hand tools and pillar drills.
5. Interpreting engineering drawings and part inspection using measuring equipment.
6. Contributing towards designing for manufacture.
7. Improving manufacturing techniques.
8. Being open to learning new machines and programming.
9. Working on own initiative.
10. Taking responsibility for the prototype machining cell and suggesting future improvements.

1. 3 years' experience working as a CNC setter operator and programmer.
2. Experience machining various materials such as Aluminium, Stainless steel, MDF, structural foam, and other glass/carbon-based composites.

1. HND/HNC in Mechanical Engineering desirable but not essential.
2. CAD CAM experience - preferably AutoDesk Inventor/ Fusion 360, but not essential as training can be provided.
