Job description

CNC Lathe Turners - Join Our Team!

We are seeking skilled CNC Lathe Turners to join our growing team. While time-served candidates are preferred, this is not essential.

Key Responsibilities

We are looking for individuals with experience operating long-bed lathes, machining standard bored/profiled tubes and offsets using:

  1. CNC lathes with Fanuc Series OI-TD controls
  2. Manual lathes
  3. Turning component lengths up to 10 metres in stainless, super, and carbon alloys

Your role will involve:

  1. Programming Fanuc Series OI-TD controlled lathes (preferred but not essential)
  2. Recording precise measurements before and after machining
  3. Conducting visual inspections to ensure quality compliance
  4. Operating overhead cranes safely and efficiently
  5. Identifying and addressing quality issues
  6. Applying modern manufacturing techniques such as TPM and 5S
  7. Maintaining a safe work environment in line with company safety standards
Skills & Experience Required
  1. 2-3 years of turning experience in a manufacturing environment
  2. Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings to create precise components
  3. Experience with Fanuc Series OI-TD programming (advantageous but not essential)
  4. Proficiency in measuring tools: Micrometers, Calipers, Bore Comparators, Wall & Surf Gauges
  5. Strong attention to detail, capable of working to tight tolerances
  6. Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines
  7. Self-motivated with the ability to work independently and within a team
  8. Willingness to work overtime and rotating shifts (2-week days/nights)
  9. Understanding of health & safety, environmental regulations, and quality standards
  10. Strong communication skills, both written and verbal
