  • CNC Operator – £13.60 to £14.96 per hour – Castle Vale
  • Temp to Perm role – long term opportunity

AM2PM are recruiting for a number of experienced CNC Operators for our client based in the Castle Vale B35 area. Our client is a leading manufacturer of timber frames for new build houses across the UK.

Working hours:

  • 6am to 2pm
  • 2pm to 10pm
  • 10pm to 6am
  • You MUST be available to work all 3 shifts (this is a 3 shift rotation)
  • £1.30 to £14.96 per hour depending on shift and experience.

Responsibilities:

  • Maintenance of all electrical, hydraulic and pneumatic systems on all machinery, robotics, lasers, and ancillary material handling equipment to maintain efficiency.
  • Assist in implementing and maintaining proactive maintenance systems for PPM and TPM.
  • Root cause analysis to identify issues and provide 1st time fixes to reduce downtime. Fault finding and repair on electrical issues and mechanical faults on hydraulics and pneumatics.
  • Effective and timely response to all breakdowns.
  • Adhere to all company HSE policies and procedures at all times.
  • Comply with LOTO procedures at all times.
  • Recommend improvements to equipment and processes to enhance quality and productivity.
  • Perform safety checks on all machines.
  • Perform routine preventative maintenance checks on all production equipment and machinery.
  • Replace and repair parts on machines such as bearings, filters, wiring, valves, gauges, and switches.
  • Adjust functional parts of devices and control instruments.
  • Replace electrical parts and equipment as required.
  • Observe and listen to mechanical devices in operation to locate causes of trouble.
  • Dismantle machinery to gain access to and remove defective parts.
  • Inspect used parts to determine changes in dimensional requirements.
  • Repair or replace defective parts. Lubricate and clean parts as required.
  • Start machinery to test their performance.
  • Implement Continuous Improvement activities to assist cost down at all times.
  • Any other projects or tasks assigned to you by management as required.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • NVQ level 3 in Mechanical / Electrical Engineering.
  • Experience in practical mechanical / electrical engineering.
  • Experienced in Robotics, specifically ABB 6 Axis robot / Fanuc and PLC Programming.
  • Ability to communicate effectively at all levels.
  • Team player - flexible on colleague cover and working outside normal hours.
  • Prepared to accommodate emergency call out (within reasonable parameters).
  • Understanding of IATF16949/ISO9001 Quality standards.
