Job description

CNC MILLER SETTER/OPERATOR

We are currently recruiting for a skilled and motivated CNC Miller Setter/Operator to join a leading manufacturing company. The ideal candidate will be responsible for setting up and operating CNC milling machines to produce high-precision components. The role requires experience with 3-axis and 4-axis machines, ideally with knowledge of Siemens controls, although other control system experience is also welcomed.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Set up, operate, and maintain CNC milling machines (XYZ 3-axis and 4-axis).
  2. Read and interpret engineering drawings and technical specifications to produce accurate parts.
  3. Program and adjust CNC machines to ensure high-quality production standards.
  4. Monitor machine performance and adjust parameters to maintain optimal efficiency.
  5. Perform routine maintenance and troubleshooting of machines.
  6. Ensure all work meets quality standards and adheres to safety protocols.
  7. Maintain clean and organized workstations.

Requirements:

  1. Proven experience as a CNC Miller Setter/Operator.
  2. Proficiency in operating 3-axis and 4-axis CNC milling machines.
  3. Experience with Siemens controls is beneficial; experience with other controls is accepted.
  4. Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and technical documents.
  5. Good understanding of machining processes and tooling.
  6. Strong attention to detail and commitment to high-quality standards.
  7. Ability to work well both independently and as part of a team.
  8. Strong communication skills and a proactive attitude.

Benefits:

  1. £13 - £18 an hour, dependent on experience.
  2. Overtime paid at 1.5x the standard hourly rate.
  3. Core working hours from 7:30 AM to 3:30 PM.
