Job description

Job Title: CNC Miller Programmer Setter Operator
Shift: Day shift, 39 hours per week, Monday to Thursday 7:30am - 4:30pm and Friday 7:30am - 1:30pm
Rate: £18 - £22 p/h

We are looking for a skilled CNC Miller Programmer Setter Operator to take responsibility for programming, setting up, and operating CNC milling machines equipped with Fanuc controls. You will be expected to produce high-precision components, interpret technical drawings, and ensure high-quality standards are met at all stages of production.

The Job
  1. Program, set up, and operate CNC milling machines with Fanuc controls to produce high-precision parts.
  2. Interpret engineering drawings, specifications, and CAD models to program the CNC machines effectively.
  3. Perform tool changes, adjustments, and machine setup to ensure optimal performance and accuracy.
  4. Conduct first-off and in-process inspections to ensure parts meet required tolerances and quality standards.
  5. Perform routine maintenance and troubleshooting of CNC machines.
  6. Work closely with the team to ensure production goals and deadlines are met.
  7. Identify and resolve machining issues to minimize downtime and maximize productivity.
  8. Adhere to health and safety standards and maintain a clean and safe working environment.
The Ideal Candidate:
  1. Proven experience as a CNC Miller Programmer Setter Operator.
  2. Strong knowledge and hands-on experience with Fanuc controls.
  3. Proficient in CNC programming, setting, and operation (manual programming and/or CAD/CAM systems).
  4. Ability to read and interpret technical drawings.
  5. Strong attention to detail and precision, with the ability to work to tight tolerances.
  6. Good problem-solving skills and the ability to troubleshoot machine issues.
  7. Experience with tool setting and calibration.
  8. Knowledge of machine maintenance and basic repair.
  9. Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
  10. A relevant qualification or apprenticeship in machining or engineering is advantageous.
