Job description

CNC Miller

Contek are working with a client in Portsmouth who are looking for a CNC Miller to join their extensive team of engineers. This company has been in business for years, and due to recent requirements, they are looking for a CNC Miller to assist with programming in their Milling department.

You can either be based on the shop floor or within an office offering offline programming support.

This is a full-time, permanent position.

Requirements:

  1. Programming CNC Mills using online or offline programming software. (open to packages used)
  2. Competency working to drawings on a low volume basis.
  3. Experience working with a variety of industries.
  4. Working knowledge of machining to very tight tolerances.
  5. Able to advise on programming, best methods of machining and make executive decisions on programming routes.

Desired:

  1. Experience working with offline programming packages (all software welcome).
  2. Apprenticeship served or a solid foundation in engineering.
  3. Experience in a lead programmer role or similar where you are able to advise on machining methods to setters on the shop floor.

Hours:

Standard day shift - Monday to Friday.
