Job description

Our client, an energy sector client, has the below requirement for a CNC Machinist (Horizontal borer) to join the team on a permanent staff basis.

CNC Machinist (horizontal borer)

Summary
The CNC Machinist role will be integrated into the Machining department with the responsibility for the accurate and safe operation of machinery in respect of drilling, boring and milling duties.

Typical Machinery worked on includes
  • Doosan horizontal borer with Fanuc controls

Job Location
Primarily based within the Company’s main office in Stonehaven, Aberdeenshire

Responsibilities and Duties
  • Carry out the accurate and safe operation of machinery in respect of drilling, boring and milling.
  • Ensure the maintenance and cleanliness of machinery and consumables in respect of manufacturer recommendations to ensure fitness for purpose and accuracy.
  • Maintain Quality Assurance System by diligent upkeep of materials traceability.
  • Ensure you work safely, and you are not endangering yourself, those around you or the environment.
  • Ensuring client requirements are met.
  • Integrated within the Machining team and follow the existing procedures and processes of the Machining department.

Qualifications Essential
  • Time served e.g. Modern Apprenticeship
Desirable
  • Experienced to work with a variety of machine tools

Skills
  • Must have over 2 years’ experience working with Fanuc, setting, operating and Programming
  • Experience of Horizontal Boring will be required
  • Ability to program from scratch would be a distinct advantage
  • Ability to read technical drawings
  • 5 + years relevant Oil & Gas experience
