Job description

CNC Setter Operator - Witham - Up to £18.36ph - Free Car Parking


An exciting role within an automotive component manufacturer based in Witham has come up for a CNC Setter Operator to work on their late shift.


The company designs, engineers, and manufactures solutions for some of the world's most exclusive and ultra-premium car programmes, including Mercedes-AMG, McLaren, Ford GT, Aston Martin, and Pininfarina.


Paying up to £18.36ph (including shift allowance), working Monday to Thursday, 1.30pm to 12 midnight. Overtime available when production demands.


Responsibilities:
  1. Responsible for setting 3-axis vertical machining centres (VMC's) with the option to bolt on a 4th axis, or 4th and 5th axis rotary table.
  2. Overseeing quality control of work, employing a range of inspection equipment to check parts against engineering drawings.
  3. Setting of 3 and 5 axis machines to run low-volume production jobs.
  4. Providing feedback to programmers on new or existing programs to refine the manufacturing process.
  5. Working with a variety of materials including aluminium, steel, plastics, epoxy tool boards, and carbon fibre.
  6. Responsible for cutting, preparing, deburring, and manually finishing parts when required.

Skills Required:
  1. Experience and a good understanding of HAAS or FANUC controls to set tools, work offsets, and adjust tool offsets where required.
  2. Keen eye for detail.
  3. Ability to read engineering drawings.
