CNC Machinists
* £35,026 per annum
* 10% Employer Pension Contribution

Are you an experienced CNC Machinist with experience in manufacturing or engineering? Are you seeking a new role that matches your career development and aspirations? Well, read on!! My client has secured a number of major manufacturing projects and have an orderbook bursting at the seams!! They urgently need to recruit CNC Machinists to work within their engineering department. (NB - These are rotating shift roles, earlies or lates from Monday to Thursday, so long weekends!!).

Role Profile

The CNC Machinists will implement the programmes as designed by the CNC programmer to manufacture components to customer specifications and prescripted aircraft standards on the CNC Machines.

Key Accountabilities and Responsibilities of the CNC Machinists
  1. Perform CNC operations using a variety of different machines - including lathes, milling, and Laser equipment.
  2. Understand, interpret and work to Engineering drawings and to work to tight tolerances.
  3. Provide methods and technical support to other members of the team wherever necessary.
  4. Develop tooling solutions for both cutting and fixturing as needed.
  5. Working in conjunction with the manufacturing engineers and CNC programmer, operate the CNC to meet the daily production targets.
  6. Produce and edit NC programs via the machine control and/or ISO code.
  7. Ensure that full documentation is kept up to date detailing the CNC path, featuring and tooling information.
  8. Maintain safe operations by adhering to safety procedures and regulations.
  9. Document actions by completing production and quality logs.
  10. Contribute new ideas and positive support to the current processes by improving productivity.
  11. Assist in solving manufacturing and quality issues utilising root cause and analysis tools.
  12. Share knowledge and experience and support coaching and mentoring to new employees and apprentices.
  13. Support and participate in Continuous Improvement initiatives across Shop Operations (i.e., Yellow Belt LEAN Manufacturing, 6S initiatives, cost reductions, housekeeping).
  14. Carry out any other duties that may be necessary to meet departmental objectives.
Person Specification:

The CNC Machinists will be:

  1. Team Player with the ability to work alone and use own initiative with minimum supervision.
  2. Excellent communication skills.
  3. Previous experience of manufacturing with CNC equipment and controls.
  4. Previous CNC Machining experience.
  5. Previous experience on Mazatrol/Shop Mill controls would be a distinct advantage.
  6. Flexible approach to working various shift patterns.
  7. Willingness to be trained across departments, supporting flexible working requirements.
