Cnc Machinist

Our client, a leading US-headquartered manufacturing company, is rapidly expanding its UK operations under dynamic new leadership. This is an exciting opportunity to join a well-established, highly stable, and growing business renowned for its innovation and commitment to excellence in aerospace manufacturing.

The Role

We are looking for a CNC Machinist (Setter/Operator) to join the CNC Turning section. You will be responsible for setting and operating a range of modern CNC Lathes, with an ideal background in mill/turn twin spindle machining.

This role operates on a two-shift system (Monday - Thursday), alternating shifts (5.20 am - 3pm & 3pm - 12pm), offering a great work-life balance while working in a cutting-edge manufacturing environment.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Setting and operating CNC Lathes, ensuring production meets tight tolerances.
2. Reading and interpreting engineering drawings to achieve precision machining.
3. Working alongside manufacturing engineers and CNC programmers to meet daily production targets.
4. Maintaining accurate documentation of CNC paths, features, and tooling information.
5. Ensuring safe operations by adhering to health & safety procedures.
6. Performing machine maintenance and daily checks to ensure operational efficiency.
7. Supporting Continuous Improvement (LEAN, 6S) initiatives to enhance productivity.

About You:

1. Experience as a CNC Setter/Operator, ideally with a multi-spindle mill/turn background.
2. Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings accurately.
3. Skilled in using hand measuring tools to check component precision.
4. Strong team player with the ability to work independently when required.
5. Experience with Fanuc controls is preferred (training available for the right candidate).
