Job description

CNC Lathe Programmer

Location: Halesowen
Weekly Hours: 6am to 2pm/11am to 7pm - Mon to Fri
Annual Salary: £30,000 - £35,000 including shift allowance.

I am pleased to be recruiting for a manual lathe operator for my Halesowen based client who is one of the market leaders in the heavy engineering and forging sector.

The successful CNC Lathe Programmer/Setter will have the following experience:

  1. Minimum of 2 years' experience as a CNC Lathe Programmer/Setter
  2. Exposure to understanding and following basic CNC programs (Siemens preferred)
  3. Working from engineering drawings to plan out how to most effectively machine each component
  4. Use of overhead cranes (training will be provided)
  5. General preventative maintenance such as swarf removal and coolant checks
  6. Checking and inspection of own work at beginning, in process and completion of work
  7. Working to master route cards and required specifications
  8. Experience in a heavy engineering environment

The ideal candidate:
  1. A recognised apprenticeship or equivalent relevant experience
  2. A logical and analytical approach
  3. Good attention to detail
  4. Ability to work independently
