About The RoleFDM is a global business and technology consultancy seeking a Cloud Engineer to work for our client within the retail sector. This is initially a 6-month contract with the potential to extend and will be a hybrid role that will be based in London.
As a Cloud Engineer you will play a crucial role in shaping the future of cloud technology within our clients Supply Chain division. The client is at the forefront of innovation, leveraging AWS and Kafka to drive efficiency, scalability, and resilience in their supply chain operations. You will be a subject matter expert (SME) and champion of cloud technologies, focusing primarily on AWS and Kafka. You will work closely with developers, infrastructure teams, and leadership to ensure best-in-class cloud solutions are implemented and maintained.
Responsibilities- Set up and maintain CloudFormation Infrastructure-as-Code (IaC) templates
- Provide AWS best practice guidance to the team
- Collaborate with central cloud engineering teams to enforce security and compliance
- Work with central cloud engineering to enforce best practice and fix any vulnerabilities
- Act as a cloud SME, offering expertise in AWS services and cloud-based solutions.
- Design and implement complex, cross-account CI/CD pipelines with proper IAM roles and approval steps
- Monitor and optimise cloud costs, ensuring efficient resource usage
About YouRequirements- Strong expertise in AWS services such as IAM, S3, CodeBuild, CodePipeline, Secrets Manager, Parameter Store, CloudWatch, and ECS
- Experience in setting up and maintaining AWS infrastructure using CloudFormation
- Solid understanding of cloud security principles and best practices
- Ability to troubleshoot cloud-related issues and support incident resolution
- Hands-on experience with Kafka for inter-microservice communication and data publishing
- Familiarity with Terraform for Infrastructure-as-Code
- Exposure to Spring Boot/Java microservices in a cloud environment
