DESCRIPTION

The Business Analyst plays a pivotal role in supporting strategic decision-making by providing valuable data insights for the retail operations team. This role requires the individual to work closely with internal teams (Sales, Marketing, Finance, and Operations) and external stakeholders to monitor sales performance, conduct detailed analysis, and report on key business trends. The successful candidate will help drive business growth by leveraging data to identify opportunities, manage forecasts, and ensure business objectives are met.

WHAT THIS ROLE DOES

Data Analysis & Reporting

  1. Conduct comprehensive weekly and monthly retail reporting on key performance indicators (KPIs), providing actionable insights and commentary on sales performance by retailers, category, franchises, and new product launches to provide insights to sales and product teams to support strategic decisions.
  2. Identify trends and opportunities for Growth.
  3. Maintain and manage sales targets and projections, collaborating with the Finance and Commercial teams to ensure accurate forecasting.
  4. Track competitor activity and provide strategic insights on market trends to maintain a competitive edge.
  5. Provide regular support to the sales teams with promotional analysis, event performance, and ROI on marketing activities. Share insights and recommendations for improvement on revenue and profitability.
  6. Assist in the creation of Power BI dashboards to track retail performance and maintain the integrity of sales data.
  7. Champion customer data analysis (Unify in Boots) to provide commercial insights, key performance KPI evaluation, and strategic recommendations to support commercial decisions.
Sales Support & Strategy
  1. Develop and maintain Retail Planning tool for budget construction for all the cluster.
  2. Support the development of monthly and annual retail sales targets, and projections, ensuring alignment with business goals for all cluster.
  3. Work closely with National Account Managers, Trade Marketing, and Field Teams to ensure the right allocation on GWPs and sales-driven investments by doors.
  4. Perform ongoing analysis to assess risks and opportunities across sales channels and retailer groups.
  5. Support the Field, Education Team with the relevant data, reporting tools and skill development to build commercial awareness and business planning capabilities.
  6. Provide Field and Marketing team with bespoke training sessions on key reporting systems to build their confidence in building and analysing reports and reduce the reliance on the Business Analyst for ad hoc requests.
Forecasting & Demand Planning
  1. Provide proactive insights to inform supply chain and inventory planning to support new product launches and promotional activities.
Operational & Administrative Support
  1. Support operational tasks related to budget maintenance, sales tracking, and commission analysis.
  2. Provide ad-hoc reporting and analysis for leadership teams, including financial summaries, competitor analysis, and market opportunities.
  3. Assist in preparing data for business reviews, board meetings, and strategy sessions with senior leadership teams.
PROJECTS / WORK YOU WILL BE PART OF
  1. Participate in the development and execution of new product launches, including tracking their performance and contributing insights to refine strategies.
  2. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to align retail reporting and analytics with business goals, ensuring accurate and actionable insights.
  3. Contribute to strategic business initiatives by identifying trends, opportunities, and risks across retail and sales channels.
  4. Assist in the analysis of promotional events, providing feedback on their impact and recommending adjustments for future campaigns.
  5. Work on improving business systems, suggesting improvements in tools and processes for better data management and reporting efficiency.
  6. Play a role in market analysis to identify new distribution opportunities and support the sales team in achieving broader business objectives.
WHAT YOU WILL NEED TO BE SUCCESSFUL IN THIS ROLE
  1. Strong analytical skills with the ability to extract meaningful insights from complex data sets.
  2. Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, SAP, and Power BI; experience with other data systems is a plus.
  3. Excellent communication skills, with the ability to present complex data and findings in a clear and actionable manner.
  4. Ability to work across multiple teams and levels of stakeholders, providing data-driven recommendations and insights.
  5. Proven ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment.
  6. Experience in retail, commercial analysis, or a similar field.
QUALIFICATIONS
  1. A background in Business, Finance, Economics, or a related field.
  2. Strong experience in retail and commercial analytics.
  3. Comfortable working with large data sets and generating detailed reports.
