Qualifications

Essential criteria

  1. Professional dosimetry knowledge gained through BSc/HNC/BEng or equivalent
  2. Specialist knowledge through other courses and regular updating/CPD
  3. Registered with either RCT or HCPC

Desirable criteria

  1. BSc/MSc in Clinical Technology (Radiotherapy Physics) or equivalent

Experience

Essential criteria

  1. Proven post-qualification experience as a Clinical Technologist in Radiotherapy Physics Treatment Planning
  2. Extensive experience as a registered healthcare professional in Radiotherapy environment

Desirable criteria

  1. Experience of Varian Treatment machines
  2. Experience of Varian TPS (Eclipse)

Skills, Knowledge & Aptitude

Essential criteria

  1. Ability to work within a multi-disciplinary team
  2. Ability to work with patients
  3. Excellent communication skills
  4. Understanding of hardware, software
  5. Good understanding of radiotherapy
  6. Working knowledge of TPS and mould-room techniques
  7. Ability to train and mentor staff, including trainee clinical scientists
  8. Excellent numerical/analytical skills

Desirable criteria

  1. Knowledge of complex treatment planning (VMAT, SABR) and mould-room practices

Other job requirements

Essential criteria

  1. Ability to work in situations with exposure to bodily fluids
  2. Ability to travel between trusts
  3. Able to travel out of the region for academic courses/site visits etc.
