The successful candidate will work within a multidisciplinary team to assess and treat a range of mental health conditions, challenging behaviors, and severe and enduring mental illnesses.

This approach is at the heart of our Trauma-Informed Approaches (TIA), where we recognise the connection between life experiences and the development of mental health difficulties.
The post holder will assume the role of Unit/Site Coordinator at least four times a month. They will provide unit management support and coordinate patient flow (bed management) outside of regular hours. Additionally, the Unit Coordinator will offer senior nursing support, professional leadership, and guidance in all clinical areas within the unit, available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.

Please note, that this role requires successful candidates to participate in Therapeutic Management of Violence and Aggression (TMVA) training, including the use of force techniques, due to the high-acuity nature of the ward and the need to ensure the safety of both patients and staff. As a Band 6 nurse, you will be an excellent team player, facilitating collaborative working to ensure high standards of assessment, care, and treatment for patients both within the ward and the wider unit. Additionally, you will demonstrate leadership skills by guiding the nursing team on the ward and across the wider unit when taking on the role of unit coordinator.
