Job summaryAlong with the Advanced Clinical lead and Team Leader, the post holder will take a specialist clinical lead role in the provision and development of an effective and specialised Occupational Therapy Neurology Neuro-rehabilitation Service, providing specialist education and advice as required. To provide a high standard of Occupational Therapy to patients referred to the Occupational Therapy Neurology Service.
The post holder will supervise junior members of the team as agreed, as well as support clinical supervision of Occupational Therapists, students and multidisciplinary staff working within the Neuro team. The post holder will deputise for the Advanced Clinical lead or Team Leader undertaking any specific clinical and professional responsibilities in their absence i.e. day to day operational management and prioritisation of the ward/service caseload and Occupational therapy team. This also includes supporting general medical patients and those in the Coronary Cardiac Unit. The post holder will be responsible for his or her own Continual Professional Development.

Person SpecificationQualificationsEssential- Diploma/Degree in Occupational Therapy
- HCPC Registration
- CPD in relevant clinical areas
- Basic management/supervision training
- Proven practical knowledge and skills within neurological practice at a level deemed appropriate to meet the above job description.

ExperienceEssential- Documented evidence of continuing professional development
- Experience in the supervision of junior/assistant staff
- Extensive clinical experience in a relevant neurology specialty

- Implementing a range of standardised and/or non-standardised neurological assessments.
