We have an opportunity for a Registered Nurse Mental Health / Learning Disability to join us as our new full time (37.5 hours) Clinical Specialist Nurse within the Harrogate Community Mental Health Team (Mental Health Services for Older People) based in the picturesque market town of Knaresborough. The role will require travel across the area which includes Harrogate, Ripon, Knaresborough, Boroughbridge, Wetherby and surrounding area as we work with people in their own homes and communities.
Applicants should be enthusiastic and driven, with excellent knowledge of mental health across the community system. You will have the support of the existing Clinical Leadership Team and work directly alongside two other Clinical Nurse Specialists in the team.

Working beside the Community Team Manager, existing Clinical Specialists, Psychologists and Psychiatrists you will be expected to work autonomously in a fast-paced environment and provide clinical leadership within the team utilising skills to support multidisciplinary team members, including delivering caseload and clinical supervision.
The post requires you to hold a defined caseload of patients with complex needs and it is advantageous if you hold a Non Medical Prescribing qualification or are willing to work towards this in your first year. We work with patients utilising evidenced based Pathways, recognising the importance of non-pharmacological interventions, which you would promote and model.
You will be welcomed into a supportive, resilient and professional team who work collaboratively with internal and external partners to support the needs of those who are experiencing a deterioration in their mental health and their family carer needs.
Strong team working is essential, together with a knowledge and ideally experience of Quality Improvement work, significant experience of working with Older People with complex needs alongside holding a comprehensive knowledge of mental health care, the Mental Health Act and complex risk assessment.
