Essential criteria
- First level registration with NMC or equivalent
- Teaching and assessing qualification
- Degree or willingness to undertake further study
- Basic Life support
Desirable criteria
- ILS / ALS
Experience
Essential criteria
- 4 years post registration experience
- Evidence of ongoing CPD
Knowledge and Audit/Research
Essential criteria
- Awareness of current local priorities for HYMS, nursing and MDT learning
- Ability to collect and analyse data
- Ability to produce recommendations post audit and develop action plans
- Awareness of current local and international NHS agenda
Desirable criteria
- Previous experience of participation in audit projects
- Previous experience of involvement in research or an awareness of research methodology
Clinical Skills
Essential criteria
- Ability to perform extended role skills eg venepuncture, cannulation, ECG
- Ability to assess standards of clinical practice / competency
- Evidence of patient centred approach
- Ability to respond to clinical questions/queries from all levels of clinical staff
- Ability to provide supervised practice to all levels of staff and to provide effective feedback to improve clinical skills and patient care
- Ability to promote latest evidenced based practice
Teaching, Learning and Development

- Proven skills in presentation, facilitation, teaching plans, teaching aids and literature reviews
- Proven ability to identify training needs
- Proven ability to share and spread good practice
