Job description

We have a unique opportunity for a Clinical Services Manager to join Unity Healthcare GP Practice.

This exciting clinical opening has come about following a review of the Practice’s management structure after the successful launch of the Unity Healthcare Hub.

Unity’s new Hub model is a transformative approach designed to enhance patient care and staff well-being. It allows us to address the limitations of physical clinical space by providing dedicated clinical office space where patient contact is managed remotely through triage and consultations. Face-to-face appointments continue at our three existing sites (Haverhill, Long Melford, Lavenham).

Our attention is on developing our workforce model to support our growing organisation. Our clinical staff have a ‘portfolio role’, rotating between ‘Speed Triager’, ‘Hub Remote Consultor’, ‘Face-to-face clinician’ and ‘GP Site Lead’.

We are also making a significant investment in a new, larger management structure in order to meet Unity’s 2028 vision which includes:

  1. Embedded in our local community especially INTs with close partnership with WSFT.
  2. An enlarged senior leadership team drawn from across all clinical groups and managers
  3. A ‘reimagined’ working environment and workflow which addresses current challenges and is attractive to work in
  4. The most advanced user of technology in Suffolk general practice
  5. A practice where individuals come to work, learn and then move on to share Unity’s vision.

A new Senior Leadership Team has been created, with new roles including Clinical Director, Service Director, Clinical Services Manager, Systems & Change Manager, HR Manager and Practice Manager.

What is the role?

  • You will be part of Unity’s Senior Leadership team and be part of the team responsible for implementing the Unity 2028 vision;
  • You will oversee clinical decision making, ensuring adherence to best practice and clinical guidelines.
  • You will develop and implement clinical pathways, and promote a culture of continuous quality improvement
  • You will facilitate a clinically lead culture

Is it for me?

  • To succeed in this role you will need experience of effectively leading a team of multi-professional clinical staff, and be confident in managing change
  • You will need to have a current professional registration and ideally a masters level qualification
  • You will need to be able to establish trust and credibility with clinicians across Unity.
  • You will need to be able to regularly commute across Suffolk, including Haverhill.

Contract type:

Full time: 37.5 hours per week, with usual working days of Monday – Friday.

What we can offer you:

  • A strong ethos of flexible working, to help us maintain (or reclaim) that work/life balance.
  • Innovative teams who strive in forward thinking, with a voice that is heard.
  • A visible and supportive management team, with operational support that ‘get it’
  • Excellent IT teams & support giving us first class equipment and ‘no wait’ responses
  • A commitment to personal development, training, and leadership opportunities, with service-managed training budgets
  • Cycle to work scheme
  • Death in service cover
  • Competitive salaries with annual benchmarking
  • 27 days holiday (plus bank holidays) on starting, rising to 29 days (plus bank holidays) after 5 years’ service
  • Blue light card employer – Access to the discount service with thousands of discounts online and on the high street.
