Job description

Ellern Mede is looking for an experienced Clinical Service Manager who will ensure that all colleagues are focused on providing positive outcomes for the people we support, in line with regulatory standards and company key performance indicators, policies and procedures.

Main duties of the job

Key responsibilities of this role include, but are not limited to:

  1. Maintaining managerial responsibility for the effective operation and delivery of Ellern Mede Ridgeway services through a large team of care and nursing staff, providing clinical care and treatment 24 hours a day, seven days a week.
  2. Maintaining responsibility for the confidentiality, security, and accuracy of patient’s records, data, and information whilst ensuring that all clinical documentation is compliant with regulatory guidelines.
  3. The postholder should have measurable post-qualified experience in a management or team manager position, and a shown ability to use own initiative in lifting the professional bar and raising/maintaining high standards in a similar setting, will be essential.

In this role, you will be supported by an experienced Hospital Manager, who will offer ongoing support and guidance.

Person Specification
Qualifications
  • RMN/RGNL/RGN qualification including significant post-graduate experience in mental health. ENB 998 or equivalent. Experience at B7 or equivalent management experience. Current registration to appropriate professional body.
Experience
  • Clinical Service Manager experience working in mental health as a Ward Manager at or equivalent in both inpatient and community settings. Evidence of post-qualifying continued learning and proven awareness of developments in mental health. Substantial experience working in a multi-disciplinary, inter-agency setting, with an understanding of the differing responsibilities of statutory and non-statutory organisations. Excellent IT skills. Experience of professional supervision of staff. Experience of teaching or supervision of trainees.
  • Experience of working in eating disorders.
Skills
  • Evidence of the ability to manage a team and set and maintain standards of performance and conduct. Evidence of the ability to introduce and manage change. Clear understanding of Health and Safety, Risk assessment and Equal Opportunities issues and legislation. Evidence of ability to select and develop staff. Has recruited and interviewed own staff.
  • Has undertaken staff care or disciplinary related work.
