Job description

We are looking for a motivated and enthusiastic Clinical Research Practitioner to join the Unit for Paediatric & Population-Based Dermatology Research at St John’s Institute of Dermatology, Guy’s and St Thomas NHS Foundation Trust and King’s College London.


The candidate will be joining a dynamic, hardworking and supportive group of Clinical Research Practitioners, Research Nurses and clinical investigators.


Once trained, the candidate will have responsibility for leading on a portfolio of Clinical Trials of Investigational Medicinal Products (CTIMPs) and observational research studies.


You will be tasked with:

  1. Liaising with clinical teams to recruit eligible patients.
  2. Supporting delivery of clinical interventions and conducting tests according to specific study protocols.
  3. Study follow-up and data entry.
  4. Ensuring patient safety and maintaining high levels of quality assurance.
  5. Being involved in the set-up of new trials.

The Unit is directed by Professor Carsten Flohr, Consultant and Chair in Dermatology and Population Science. Professor Flohr is also a Research & Development Lead for St John’s Institute. His team is running a broad portfolio of research studies, including trials with novel systemic medications for severe atopic eczema and psoriasis (biologics and small molecules) and the ‘Mind & Skin’ consortium, which studies how skin inflammation and itching in atopic eczema can lead to systemic inflammation, including in the brain.
