You would also be expected to fulfil deputy roles and teaching/training.

We are a team of 5 core staff which includes a Clinical Scientist, Clinical Physiologists, and an admin clerk and are looking to complete our team with an enthusiastic and compassionate qualified individual. Our referrals are from all over the North West which includes as far north as Cumbria and Crewe to the south. We are part of a North West GI Physiology network and have strong links with the National School of Healthcare Science and Newcastle University which forms part of the Scientist Training Programme.

In GI Physiology, we are looking to employ a GI Clinical Physiologist / Scientist in this busy physiology department. Currently, we have 3 full-time and 1 part-time physiologists so being a team player and a motivated individual is essential. We receive referrals from all over the North West as well as from our own trust. We are looking for either a Clinical Physiologist or a Clinical Scientist in GI Physiology. You will be able to undertake oesophageal manometry, 24hr pH/impedance monitoring, as well as anorectal physiology investigations in the first instance. You will have the ability to analyse and report your findings with a technical and clinical report. We also undertake a range of other investigations and treatments, such as biofeedback, High Resolution impedance Manometry (HRiM), antroduodenal manometry, capsule enteroscopy as well as a limited range of breath tests. Although these are not essential to the role in the first instance, there is scope to expand your knowledge and skills. Ideally, you will be an AGIP accredited practitioner and on either the RCCP or HCPC register (or within the next 6-12 months).
