Position: Clinical Pharmacist - Rotational Wards

Location: Portsmouth - NHS Hospital

Start Date: February/March

Hunter Gatherer AHP is excited to be working with a prestigious NHS Hospital in Portsmouth, who are currently looking to expand their pharmacy team with an experienced Clinical Pharmacist to join their Rotational Wards team. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced pharmacist to contribute to patient care across a variety of wards including Cardiology, Oncology, and Medical Wards.

A Day in the Life of a Clinical Wards-Based Pharmacist:
  1. You'll work closely with multidisciplinary teams (doctors, nurses, and allied health professionals) to ensure the safe and effective use of medications in your assigned wards.
  2. Conducting medication reviews for patients in Cardiology, Oncology, and Medical Wards, ensuring the best therapeutic outcomes.
  3. Collaborating in ward rounds, providing expert advice on drug interactions, side effects, and treatment plans.
  4. Supporting patients with education about their medications, helping them understand their treatment options and proper usage.
  5. Playing a key role in clinical audits and contributing to service improvements and governance initiatives within the pharmacy department.
Requirements & Qualifications:
  1. Hospital experience is required, ideally in ward-based pharmacy, with familiarity in Cardiology, Oncology, or Medical Wards.
  2. GPhC registration and a proven track record as a qualified Clinical Pharmacist.
  3. Strong clinical knowledge and the ability to make informed decisions in a busy hospital environment.
  4. Ability to work effectively in a team and communicate well with both patients and colleagues.
Working Hours & Contract Duration:

Working Hours: Monday to Friday, 9:00 AM - 5:00 PM (with a 30-minute break).

Contract Duration: Initial contract with potential extension based on hospital needs.

Pay Rate:

Band 7/8a
£27 - £37 per hour, dependent on experience.
