JOB DESCRIPTION

Are you a Band 7 Clinical Pharmacist looking for a rewarding locum role? We have an exciting opportunity for you in Gloucester!

Job Title: Clinical Pharmacist (Band 7)
Location: NHS Hospital, Gloucester
Duration: Locum contract
Schedule: Monday to Friday, 9:00 AM - 5:30 PM (1-hour break)
Start Date: April 2025
End Date: Ongoing
Rate of Pay: £25 - £31 per hour

What You'll Be Doing:

Join our client's team as a Clinical Pharmacist and play a key role in improving patient care within a hospital setting. In this role, you will:

  1. Provide expert pharmaceutical advice to medical staff on the surgical and medical wards
  2. Review and monitor patient medication regimes to ensure safe prescribing
  3. Ensure compliance with clinical guidelines and best practices
  4. Participate in ward rounds and collaborate with multidisciplinary teams
  5. Support dispensary duties and provide medication counselling as required
  6. Contribute to the development of patient care strategies

Requirements & Qualifications:
To be successful in this role, you will need:

  1. A current and valid GPhC registration
  2. Proven experience as a Clinical Pharmacist, ideally within NHS hospital wards
  3. Experience in surgical and medical wards is desirable
  4. Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  5. Ability to work effectively within a team and independently
  6. Knowledge of current pharmaceutical practices and legislation
  7. Flexibility to work the specified hours

Working Hours & Contract Duration:
This role requires availability from Monday to Friday, 9:00 AM - 5:30 PM, with flexibility where possible. The contract is ongoing, with a strong possibility of extension based on performance and service needs.
