Are you newly qualified or looking for a career change? Does the prospect of developing and learning in a variety of clinical specialties appeal to you?

We are looking for a motivated individual who is passionate about improving care and shares our health board values to join our team.

Withybush General Hospital is a busy district general hospital providing a range of medical and surgical specialties with a busy Emergency and Admission Unit.

You will be joining a team of experienced pharmacists and technicians and will be supported within a nurturing working environment to develop your career and undertake the prescribing qualification. You will be expected to undertake the role of responsible pharmacist and will be expected to undertake Emergency Duty Commitment (on-call), work weekends and Bank holidays as part of a rota.

Main duties of the job

You will undertake a rotational clinical pharmacist role working closely with pharmacy colleagues and the wider multidisciplinary team.

You will have the opportunity to develop your practice in a wide range of clinical areas in a small and friendly acute general hospital.

You will be supported in ongoing studies through the clinical diploma and subsequent prescribing qualifications.

You will be expected to undertake the role of responsible pharmacist when working in outpatient areas.

The post includes formal development opportunities from either the structured HEIW Post-registration Foundation Training Programme or a distance learning clinical diploma. Both these qualifications provide the foundation for excellent career development and a platform for professional and personal development. To meet the criteria for the HEIW post-Foundation training programme, you must be qualifying in July 2025 or have registered with the GPhC after July 2024.
