This role enables the successful candidate to develop their clinical expertise relating to safeguarding children and young people. You will gain experience within the role by covering all of our 5 sites, including specialties such as trauma services, specialist eye hospital, accident and emergency departments, urgent care centres, sexual health services, and inpatient paediatric services.
We are fortunate to work within a large integrated safeguarding team, consisting of Named Nurses for Children and Adults, a Consultant Nurse, Named Midwife, Named Doctor, Safeguarding midwives, and other safeguarding nurses.
The team works over the weekend between the hours of 9 - 5, so weekend working would be part of the hours for this role.
As part of the day-to-day role, we will triage all children under 18 attendances to unscheduled care, liaise and share information with external agencies, ensuring the safety and wellbeing of the children.
You will deliver safeguarding training to staff, provide safeguarding supervision, advocate for children in various safeguarding meetings, and work collaboratively with other members of the multidisciplinary team. You will be supported and mentored by the safeguarding team, named nurses, and the consultant nurse.
At Imperial College Healthcare, you can achieve extraordinary things with extraordinary people, working with leading clinicians pushing boundaries in patient care. Become part of a vibrant team living our values - expert, kind, collaborative, and aspirational. You'll get an experience like no other and will fast forward your career.
Benefits include career development, flexible working, wellbeing, and staff recognition schemes. Make use of optional benefits including Cycle to Work, car lease schemes, and membership options for onsite leisure facilities.
