Clinical Nurse Consultant - Melanoma (530812)

The Team:

The Northern Cancer Service provides comprehensive specialist inpatient and outpatient Medical Oncology, Radiation Oncology and Clinical Haematology Services to the North and North West Tasmanian community. This includes the state-wide brachytherapy service.

• The Northern Cancer Service also plays an active role in cancer education and research within Tasmania.
• The Northern Cancer Service is situated in the Launceston General Hospital, Mersey Community Hospital and the North West Regional Hospital complex and provides direct access to a range of medical, surgical and hospital services required to deliver quality, person-centred cancer care.

The Role:

Provide expert clinical advice and clinical leadership regarding melanoma care to acute and community-based patients, family members, carers and staff within a multidisciplinary team.

1. Develop and maintain effective relationships with internal and external service providers to achieve positive health care outcomes for acute and community-based patients/clients and their families/carers.
2. Report CNC- melanoma activity to MIA as per requirements outlined in the current MIA Funding Agreement.
3. Develop and deliver educational programs which promote melanoma care standards and principles to support the professional development of staff and improve health care services delivery.
4. Lead the development, implementation and evaluation of quality practices, policy and procedure development and research activities to improve the body of nursing and melanoma knowledge.

Details of appointment:

Fixed term, part time, day worker position, working up to 30.4 hours per fortnight, commencing from 18 November 2024 until 30 June 2026. *notwithstanding hours to be negotiated with the successful applicant.

Applicants should note that, for a period of twelve months from the date of publication, this selection process may be used to fill subsequent or similar full time, part time, and casual vacancies.

Salary: $111,506 to $118,336 per annum (Pro rata). Our Employer 11.5% superannuation contribution is on top of this amount.

• Salary range is in accordance with Nurses and Midwives (Tasmanian State Service) Agreement 2023 and Nurses and Midwives (Tasmanian State Service) Interim Agreement 2013.

Eligibility:

Successful applicants will be required to meet the essential criteria.

• Registered with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia as a Registered Nurse.

*Registration/licences that are essential requirements of this role must remain current and valid at all times whilst employed in this role and the status of these may be checked at any time during employment. It is the employee’s responsibility to ensure that registration/licences remain current and to advise the Employer if their circumstances change. This includes notifying the Employer if a registration/licence is revoked, cancelled or has its conditions altered.
