Job summaryWe are delighted to be offering a permanent 0.75 wte (28 hours) position for a highly skilled and compassionate Speech and Language Therapist to join our Childrens team within Powys Teaching Health Board. You will become our Clinical Lead for the complex needs service and will be responsible for leading and developing this service.

Main duties of the jobYou will work within the Children's Speech and Language Therapy team providing highly specialist assessment, diagnosis and management of children with complex needs to support their communication and dysphagia needs. This role will include implementation and monitoring of recent guidance around ALN and transition.
- Work as an autonomous practitioner managing children with complex needs in a variety of settings.
- Provide training, education and supervision to staff.
- Contribute to the development of professional practice and the transformation and evaluation of service delivery.
- Work in partnership with service users and staff to achieve improved health outcomes for service users and develop clinical pathways.
- Work collaboratively with other professionals to provide expert patient centred care.

Person SpecificationQualifications and/or KnowledgeEssential- Recognised qualification degree in Speech and Language Therapy
- HCPC registered
- Evidence of relevant training at post graduate training
- Knowledge of a wide range of assessment tools relevant to area of clinical expertise
- Clinical supervision experience
Desirable- Membership of relevant CEN/SIG
- Leadership and First Line Management
ExperienceEssential- Significant demonstrable experience in area of clinical specialism
- Experience of clinical leadership
Desirable- Experience in dealing with first line management such as appraisals, performance management
Aptitude & AbilitiesEssential- Ability to build effective working relationships
