Qualifications
Essential Criteria
  1. Degree in physiotherapy or equivalent
  2. HCPC registration
  3. Post Graduate qualification/experience in leadership
Desirable Criteria
  1. Qualification of recognised highly specialist skills in relevant areas (Masters or equivalent)
  2. Evidence of Post Graduate training/qualification in relevant area
Experience
Essential Criteria
  1. Able to demonstrate recent NHS experience or equivalent
  2. Experience on Intensive Care and specialist respiratory wards
  3. Evidence of current consolidated experience at a Senior Level in relevant speciality
  4. Understands own boundaries and knows when to report to senior staff
  5. Able to work alone and as part of a team - Physiotherapy and Multi-disciplinary
  6. Commitment to CPD
  7. To accept change and help support others during times of transition
  8. Able to justify clinical decisions to Medical staff
  9. On-Call Respiratory Physiotherapist experience
Desirable Criteria
  1. Experience of audit evaluation and research
  2. Experience delivering respiratory care training to patients/family/carers
  3. Awareness of legislation that may impact upon service delivery
Skills, Knowledge and Ability
Essential Criteria
  1. Ability to manage highly complex caseload
  2. Ability to manage the performance of staff within the team
  3. Must be literate, numerate and possess good verbal communication skills
  4. Ability to analyse, select and apply appropriate interventions from a range of modalities
  5. Demonstrate ability to prioritise caseload and delegate clinical and non-clinical duties to staff of a lower grade
  6. Evidence of improvements in practice
  7. Create opportunities to develop self and others
  8. Lead the planning and delivery of in-service training
  9. Ability to monitor and manage the performance of staff within the team
  10. Ability to lead the Physiotherapy team to maintain clinical standards for the service
